HOLIDAY SPECIAL - Now looking for artists

Toward the end of next month we'll be publishing our 3rd annual Holiday Special podcast on iTunes.

If you're an independent artist or bandmember who has recorded a great seasonal tune, this is your chance to have it heard alongside established acts on a show that has previously included music from Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Marianne Faithfull, Alice Cooper, The Concretes and many, many more. We'd love to share your music with our audience.

If you're interested in being considered for inclusion, please send an mp3 (in no lower quality than 192kbps) to insomniacafepodcast@gmail.com with the subject line 'Holiday Podcast Submission' no later than December 13th.

Please understand that spaces within the show are limited.

Thanks!
Michael

Independent Online Music Store Celebrates the Festive Season with Christmas Music Listing

Online Music store announces new music category listing for independent and unsigned Christmas Music.

New York, NY, October 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Independent and unsigned music website Boost Independent Music (www.boostindependentmusic.com) went live today with a new music category specifically listing Christmas songs.

“Our research shows a huge spike in the number of people searching for Christmas music in the lead up to the holidays”, said MD Graeme Longworth. “Buying mainstream music can be expensive and searches show only a limited, boring range such as traditional Christmas carols. We thought this was a great opportunity to give our huge database of independent unsigned artists and bands the opportunity to upload their Christmas music recordings – and give consumers the chance to search for something a bit different to add to their festive celebrations.”

Boost invites all artists to visit the site at www.boostindependentmusic.com and register for free to create a profile and start uploading mp3 music today. Artists wanting to add their Christmas music to the site can follow the simple prompts when uploading their songs to add them to the Christmas tracks page. Existing artists can re-categorize their music if they want to take advantage of this new listing opportunity.

For listeners wanting to find Christmas music just go to the Boost Independent Music homepage and use the easy drop down navigation menu to browse by music style.

Boost Independent Music is one of the world’s largest online music stores selling songs from independent and unsigned artists from around the world. All proceeds from track sales are split 50/50 with the artist, allowing an invaluable opportunity for bands to promote themselves and make some money in the process.

Issa's 'Dragon Dreams' now available

'Dragon Dreams', the highly anticipated first album from Issa (formerly known as Jane Siberry) is now available on CD and as a digital download. Described as 'the first of a story told in three parts', 'Dragon Dreams' is a hugely diverse and thought-provoking collection that deserves to be heard by any and all open-minded lover's of sound.

An impressive range of singers and musicians join Issa in creating these unique and inspiring pieces. Pedal steel, bagpipes, and hurdy-gurdy all make appearances throughout, along with birdsong, dogs...even Fluffers the cat.

The call-and-response nature of many of the songs makes for an extremely involving record, and one that chooses to reflect upon hopefulness and unity. Highly recommended.

A track from 'Dragon Dreams' will be featured in the next Insomnia Cafe podcast.
